I started an instagram page in 2022 after years of going back and forth about whether or not designing was something that I felt capable of doing. I know we have all been there with something in our lives. Designs by DeSouza is a passion project that has blossomed out of a dream, and I hope you choose us to help build yours.

I have my BSN in Nursing, and I have been a registered nurse since 2015. Throughout my career, I have done everything from bedside nursing to educating patients about their health via telehealth. I enjoy helping people on their path towards healing and living their best life.

To me, design is another way to help people live their best life. For years I have enjoyed decorating my home and doing DIY projects to enhance my family’s living space. Over time, this evolved to me decorating my friends’ and families’ homes and other events, such as birthday parties, baby showers, and weddings. While, I didn’t go to college for interior design, it’s something that I am passionate about and enjoy. I love seeing a space come together and a vision come alive. 

My husband and I purchased our first new construction home in 2020 during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. I was excited to start doing projects around the house; however, I had to learn to be creative with the materials available and continuous changes in our timeline. Over time, I was able to do many projects, large and small, such as wallpapering and painting to styling my daughter’s room. My husband is the handy man of our family, and he swapped out all of our builder grade faucets and lighting to make small, yet impact changes to our home. In the span of two years, we were able to transform our builder grade home into a custom home.
